An effective, professional workforce has always been considered an essential element of health promotion. It is also widely accepted that a robust public health infrastructure is significantly dependent on confident and competent practitioners.

This year's symposium looked at and discussed the elements that define professional health promotion and how this might lead to a sustainable, proficient and capable workforce.

Kahikatea Scholarships

The Health Promotion Forum of New Zealand offered a limited number of scholarships to enable participation in the Symposium. A scholarship entitles the recipient to: attend the Symposium for two days, and overnight accommodation for those living outside Wellington. 10 scholarships were awarded.
