Helping Children Through Disasters

Plunket advice on reassuring kids following latest earthquake  "Plunket says that many children may be left feeling unsure, anxious or scared after the latest earthquake in Christchurch and encourages parents to be patient and reassuring with children, who may have questions about the events."

In any disaster it is children who suffer the most according to UNICEF’s Emergency Response: Issues and Actions: April 2007. Children are particularly vulnerable and need special attention to help them cope with disaster and its aftermath.
